Welcome to the inaugural post to our newest experiment! In a little less than 3 days, we'll be on our way to China where we'll be living, studying, exploring, and adventuring for the next two years. I'll be participating in the Olmsted Scholarship Program (www.OlmstedFoundation.org) which gave me the opportunity to study Chinese for the past year, followed by two years putting it to use as a graduate student in Kunming, China.
The title of our blog is a play on one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature titled Journey to the West (西游记) which chronicles the adventures of the Monkey King during his journey West. As the self-proclaimed king of two monkeys of my own (Stephen and David) I figured it was a fitting title.
